Protectors of Empai Tirkosu: Tranquil playtest

Callie Longstrider was enjoying some light reading on the patio of her house. Kilmorn and Pekeski were training in the field out back. Angelica was taking an afternoon stroll, and Elo was helping Thane fix a broken clock. Everything was peaceful, idyllic, calm.

Features:

  • Make downtime count, with new ways to use formulas!
  • Every village a different experience!
  • Guide a a settlement’s development, or let it evolve on its own!
  • ~100 flexible events to inspire cozy tranquil life!

The comfy side of Tirkosu was never able to properly shine in D&D, even though it’s a pretty important aspect of the setting – it is an island paradise, after all. After playing a few campaigns with these rules, I’m pretty happy with how well they emulate what I’ve been imagining; from the sense of place provided by assets (and the life breathed into them by events), to the importance of Tsethem, to the steady decline as settlements expand beyond their means.

I kinda feel like it would make a cool system-agnostic framework, but all the events would need a major reworking for that.
